FAQs

How does "best friend coaching" differ from traditional life coaching or therapy?

Here at Professional Best Friend Coaching we lean into storytelling and teaching as a core part of the coaching process. Traditional coaches typically take a more objective approach, but because we prioritize teaching skills and implementation, a more personal touch is required.

What outcomes can I expect from working with a professional best friend coach?

Though the coach and client collaborate in establishing specific client goals, clients can expect sessions to feel comfortable and personable, like talking to a close friend. We want every client to grow closer to who they are at their best but will not sacrifice fun doing so.

Why aren’t you very active on social media?

Short answer: because I’m not a fan of it. Social media can be a powerful tool, especially for small businesses, but following that route wasn’t for me, so I decided not to invest in a strategy that didn’t seem worth the effort.

How do you maintain professional boundaries while offering a "best friend" type of relationship?

Professional boundaries are maintained by confining our ‘friendship’ to scheduled sessions and reasonable between-session communication, holding true to boundaries of what personal information is shared, and being very intentional about what being a good ‘friend’ looks like as a coach.

Do you offer a consultation call before committing to coaching?

A 15-minute consultation call is required for all new clients. This is to ensure that your focus, our dynamic and my approach are a good fit

What if I don't feel like it's a good fit after we start?

Clients schedule sessions at will. If you don’t find that we’re a good fit, you’re welcome (and encouraged) to keep searching for the right coach or ask me for recommendations

What does a typical session look like? How long are the sessions and how often do we meet?

Sessions are 60 minutes and client initiated. During the first session, the client will share more about what brought them to coaching and what they hope to accomplish. During subsequent sessions, we’ll continue to discuss any hidden insights and timely situations that will help us develop a practical goal and strategies to tackle the issue that brought you to coaching.

Do you offer sessions in person, virtually, or both? What are your rates payment options? Do you offer package deals?

Sessions are offered as virtual calls, phone calls, or in-person to those local to the Savannah, GA area. Phone call sessions are $60. Virtual sessions are held via Zoom, GoogleMeet, or FaceTime and are $70. In-person sessions are held in public spaces in the Savannah, GA area and are $80. Package deals are available. Please send a direct message using the communication box above for more information.

How long do most clients work with you?

The length of a client relationship is specific to the client’s needs and preferences. Specific goal-focused clients typically meet for 4-6 sessions. However, the majority of clients are ‘forever’ clients who choose to stay on the roster and schedule at-will whenever they’d like to meet for a session.

What training and certifications do your coaches have?

I’ve been coaching since 2020 after completing Lewis University’s Organizational Leadership program. 3 years as an Associate Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and after 180+ clients and 800+ sessions with an 88% approval rating, I decided to let my work speak for itself.

What's your coaching philosophy or methodology?

Our coaching philosophy is that personal and relational emotional intelligence is critical to healthy individuals and societies. I’m privileged to contribute directly to making that a reality and I do so without forfeiting my enjoyment of the work.

Do you specialize in working with particular types of clients or issues?

I specialize in working with people who consider themselves creatives, particularly those looking for growth in interpersonal relationships, mindset management, and self-confidence
